OuterLimits Technologies

Frequently Asked Questions

How much do your services cost?

We get asked this a lot. And it’s hard to answer because we don’t have cookie-cutter solutions. We tailor everything we do to meet your specific business needs and goals. We can tell you that we work with everything from mom and pop shops to Fortune 500 companies, so project costs have ranged from a few thousand to a few hundred thousand. On average though, a typical project falls into the $25,000 to $150,000 range. But again, it all comes down to your specific goals, budget, and timeframe. We’re happy to talk details with you one-on-one and discuss payment arrangements.

Is custom software way too expensive for us?

Some people get knee-jerk sticker shock when they look at custom software prices. But here’s the scoop. Custom software is a long-term solution. It’s something that meets your specific needs and can grow with you. We advise clients to weigh the pros and cons of buying new, custom software versus paying staff time and money to work out the kinks of a packaged, leased system.

What’s a typical project timeline?

Once we have a plan in place, it usually takes six to eight months for a system to be fully complete. We recommend implementing new systems in phases, giving your company and employees time to get comfortable. But we will work with you and your desired timeline to try to meet your goals.

What makes you different than your competitors?

The number one reason we stand out is that we are honest and reliable. We tell you the truth, even if it’s not what you want to hear. We have your best interests in mind–always. There are other great reasons to work with OuterLimits, but our honesty and ethics truly set us apart.

What’s your process like?

To boil it down, we listen well and then create the best solution possible within your timeframe and budget. Our process is centered around providing cutting-edge results that meet your goals.

When is a custom system better than a SaaS option?

Just because you might have outgrown your current system, doesn’t mean you should have to change your entire business process. If a Saas (software as a service) doesn’t align close enough to your needs, you’ll inevitably have to make changes in the way you work. The beauty of custom systems lies in the fact that they can be tailored, making your job easier. That being said, we’re not afraid to point you in the direction of a SaaS if we feel like it’s the best option for you.

How do you stay up-to-date with technology trends?

We constantly monitor industry trends and new technologies through trade blogs, classes, workshops, and collaborations with peers. But the latest trends aren’t always the best solutions. We don’t recommend the latest and greatest tools until we believe they are well-supported and successful, and will meet your needs.
